About The Mission

Mission Serendipity began with a simple observation. In a world where people are more digitally connected than ever, many of us feel surprisingly alone. Stephanie Cowan, a San Francisco based connection facilitator and community builder, spent years experimenting with ways to bring strangers together in meaningful ways. What began as small gatherings in her Mission District loft slowly grew into thoughtfully designed experiences that help people move from polite introductions to genuine connection. Mission Serendipity now creates gatherings, conference experiences, and community activations that spark friendship, belonging, and the kind of serendipity that can quietly change a life.

Stephanie Cowan

Founder

Stephanie is a connection facilitator, speaker, and social artist based in San Francisco. She designs experiences that transform rooms full of strangers into connected communities. Her signature experience, The Drop In, has been featured at conferences, festivals, and community gatherings where participants often leave with twenty or more genuine new connections in just one hour. Stephanie believes belonging is one of the most powerful forces for human wellbeing and designs her work around helping people rediscover each other.
